Love the 4th of July!

The 4th of July has always been a favorite holiday of mine! This year we spent the long weekend at home, which was nice! Saturday we went to the Magna town parade...laugh it up all you want, Magna's parade is awesome! For such a small town, we sure know how to celebrate!! Braxton got his first lesson on how to catch the candy being thrown all over the place. He would catch a piece and immediately want to eat it...so it took awhile to get the stash built up! LOL. He loved the parade, an hanging out with the neighbors. After the parade we went to a bbq with our neighbors and their family and friends. We are so lucky to have to coolest neighbors ever! After the bbq we headed to the carnival and let Brax ride a few carny rides...the 4th just isn't the 4th without the cheesy carnival! It was a good time, complete with lots of delicious carnival food...cotton candy, nachos, and caramel apples, oh YEAH! We sat with the neighbors and their friends for the foreworks, it was alot of fun. Braxton loved them this year!! Sunday, the actual 4th (only in Ut do we celebrate a day early when holidays fall on a Sunday), we bought a few fireworks to do at home. BBQ'd some brats and hotdogs, had a little picnic outside and the shot off some fireworks with another family in our cul-de-sac. Again, we have some great neighbors! Yay for long holiday weekends! But like all other good things, it had to end. It's back to work tomorrow, and time to start looking forward to the next weekend, lol. I love summer!!

Life...

So today we went to church...YES, I went to church, and no it did not burn down when I walked through the door. The lesson today was all about how so many people only turn to God when they NEED something..and never stop to thank God for the many blessings they have already. It was also about how people use God as a "good luck charm", meaning that they may wear a cross pendant that is their lucky charm, when the true meaning of the cross means nothing to them..or someone may go to church only because it's "the right thing to do". It made me reflect upon my own life and realize that I could use some improvement in that area. My goal is to not only pray when I need help, or just need something, but to pray everyday just to thank God for my life, and all that he has given me. I think if we all step back and look at our lives from outside of the box, we can see all that we have to be thankful for!

More of Braxton's funniness

So I have been working on teaching Braxton that saying mean things, and doing mean things hurts people's feelings. So the other day he did something to me, and I told him he hurt my feelings. He looked really concerned and "kissed me better". Yesterday he asked for candy first thing in the morning and I told him no, he covered his face (like I did when he hurt my feelings) and told me "you hurt my feelings!!!" so I told him sorry, but we don't eat candy for breakfast...so he quickly got over it and uncovered his eyes. He started looking around very confused and asked me "where my feelings go?". LOL. I told him feelings are in your heart, and he asked me "in animals hearts too?" He is such a sweet kid

6/13- Today Braxton was sitting in the driver's seat of my car as I was in the passenger seat cleaning the dash. He pretended to drive and turned to me and said " Momma, you ready to go?", me: "ready to go where?", Brax- "to a happy place!".

June 2010-Dec. 2011- Braxton says so many funny things I can hardly keep track anymore. I am going to put a few of my favorites that come to mind...and then I will start keeping a more updated list. These are always good for a laugh when you look back on them months, or even years later!

So sometime between June and December... I was explaining to Braxton why my sister in law Ashley was having a baby, and that was why her belly was big. He was a little bit freaked out by it, and wouldn't touch her tummy. Later that night, he was in the room with me when I was putting my pajamas on. He walked behind me, and said (very seriously) "Momma...why is yours butt so big? Is there a baby in there?" I do have a little junk in my trunk, but REALLY?? At least I found humor in it right? LOL

Sometimes in the same time frame, Braxton learned to tell secrets. So randomly, as we are driving down the road, eating dinner, whatever, Braxton will say "I have a secret for you..." and then followed by something sweet like " I love you MUCH...you are beautiful.....your my best friend" etc. Seriously adorable.

As Braxton and Jayde get bigger, they are playing so well together. It's pretty funny to hear them talk, and the things they talk about!! Over Thanksgiving 2010, they were playing together and pretending to "go dancing".... and go on play dates to the park! LOL. All while they are running wild in Nana and Papa's house. Such cute imaginations.

Braxton loves seeing pictures of his baby cousin Hadlee. So as we are eating breakfast the the other day he asks me " Mom, can I have a baby sister?".... Even funnier, I have Braxton call to ask Bryan the same thing. "dad, can I have a baby sister?" Bryan-"why do you want one of those?" brax- "to play with me in my room"..... So he hands the phone back to me. Me " Isn't that funny he would say that?" Bryan-"Yeah, why would he want a baby sitter?" HA HA HA

Out trip to Colorado

We went on a road trip to see Bryan's sister Jamie over Memorial day weekend. It was so much fun. They live in Littleton, which is absolutely beautiful! We got to see the Columbine memorial. It was so peaceful and serene. It really made me think of my life, and how blessed I am. Seeing the school itself was a strange feeling because I remember seeing it on the news with the live footage of kids running out of the school screaming and frantic. It's so hard to imagine something so horrible taking place. We also got to visit the aquarium in downtown Denver. It was such an awesome aquarium...Salt lake definitely needs an upgrade theirs does not even compare. Braxton loved it! We took a drive to a memorial site called Mount Lindo Memorial, which is literally on top of a mountain. It is a place for people who are creamated to have a memorial, and a place for family and friends to visit. You can see Denver and the surrounding areas from the peak. I had never seen anything like it. We also went to a place called Tiny Town. It was a village of miniature buildings, which were replicas of different historic buildings in the surrounding areas. Braxton though it was pretty cool, he had to crouch down to look inside of them. We got to go on a tiny town train ride, which he also loved. On our last day we went to a small town outside of Denver called Golden, and went on the Coors Brewery tour. It was really fun, and I discovered that beer isn't really all that bad, with an orange in it! The 16fh street shopping center in Denver was also a lot of fun! 20 blocks of stores, restaurants and lots of interesting people (rocket man, bronze cowboy, lol). everytime we go somewhere new I come home wanting to move. There is so much diversity outside of SLC, so many things to do and see. I love road trips!!

My son the salesman and gardener

So after alot of house cleaning, we decided to have a garage sale this weekend. I had to explain over and over to Braxton that we were selling his "baby" toys because he is a big boy now and no longer needs (or has room) for them! He was a little reluctant at first, but then a lady came and was looking through his clothes as I explained to him that she was buying them for her baby it was like suddenly a light came on and he understood....so he started picking up other baby clothes and toys and saying to her "this too??". HA HA. My son, the salesman.

We also planed a mini container garden this week. I bought some little pots and seeds for Braxton to plant his own. He planted tomoatos, bell peppers, and mini yellow tomatos. As we were planting I kept telling him how they would eventually grow (I hope!), and that we would eat them. So as soon as we finished planting and he watered them he asked "Momma, we can eat them now?". Too cute

Life is sweet

Today was Bryan's Friday off. I love when he has his Friday off it makes the weekend seem longer...even though I still work Friday nights :( Today we picked up sandwiches at Leger's deli and took Braxton to the park for a picnic. He started yelling in the car as soon as he seen the park "I EXCITED HEE HEE HEE". He loves the park, and playing outdoors. We took his bike too and he was pedaling it around like crazy. My baby boy is pedaling a tricycle already...where did the time go? It's crazy to think about all he has learned to say and do in just 2 years. Kids are amazing. I look forward to every single day with him. It's always something new, and he never fails to make us laugh at least once a day!! LOL. Ohhh life is sweet. I wouldn't have it any other way

Kids say the darndest things...

So while the family was here for a week visiting, Braxton got spoiled and slept in our bed every night. So last night Bryan took him to his bed and he cried and said he was too big for his bed. So of course I come home from work and find him in our bed last night...LOL. So this morning I asked him very seriously, why he isn't sleeping in his own bed...he looks at me and says "it's too dirty, there's poo poo in it". Of course there wasn't...and who knows where he came up with that idea, but he was sure quick to respond! He cracks me up. This picture is just another example of his personality...his pants fell down while he was playing outside, and he just continued playing like it never happened! LOL

Family is Everything

I have been thinking alot lately how blessed i am to have such an amazing family. Last week my cousin Jenny came to visit from Ky with her two kids, Isaac and Teigan. We got to spend a week together, and it was a great time. We took the kids to the Zoo, Aquarium, Wheeler Farm, and to my brother Scotty's play, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. Got some great pictures, enjoyed a birthday dinner at Chili's for dad and Ash. But like all other good things, it had to end. I took them to the airport yesterday, with the thought in my mind that I was not going to cry....WRONG! I cried of course. It's hard saying goodbye to someone not knowing when you will see them again. I hope we are able to make it out to Ky this year to visit them, and the rest of the family as well. It was nice having mom and dad, Chad Ash and the kids all here for the weekend too. Now it's back to life with an empty house, bummer! When we dropped them off and Braxton seen me cry he asked "mommy sad?? you happy momma?" It was so cute. I explained to him that I was happy, just sad that they were leaving. Later that day we seen an airplane and he said "Hi Teigan!" and then when he couldn't see it anymore he yelled" Teigan, WAIT!". He misses the kids, it was nice having company at our house all week. He got to call and wish Papa a happy birthday today. I love hearing him talk on the phone LOL. We are about to go outside and enjoy this beautiful day! Happy birthday dad, we love you!

Snow in March...I am so done with it!

So I woke up super motivated to work out for the 3rd day in a row....GO ME! lol. I opened the blinds and it was snowing SO hard outside! It is officially spring, and I am done with snow already. Only in Ut will you have 60 degrees one day, a huge dust storm the next, followed by snow the next day. One week of perfect spring weather would be so nice!

Spring Adventures

We took a long weekend last weekend and went to Lake Powell with my parents. It was Braxton's first time in a boat, and even at a lake. He had so much fun, he was definitley ready to have some outside time and the weather was SO nice! I got it in his head before we went that the life jacket was a MUST and he knew every time he left the houseboat at all he had to have it on. It was funny because it threw off his balance so he kept tipping over when he would lean over at all. I hate to laugh, or even tell this story (he may laugh when he gets older!) but while we were there, he got constipated. We are working on potty training so when I catch him about to do the deed in his pants I rush him to the toilet. Well I did this a couple of times and finally he got mad and told me "MOM IT"S NOT WOKIN'"! LOL. It was so hard not to laugh at him, poor kid! We had a great time, it was a good way to welcome spring!! Now bring on Easter, and then we have family coming to stay with us from Ky next week! Good times :)

Our little family

Hey! Thanks for checking out our blog. I kept saying I needed to start a personal blog, aside from my photography business blog..so finally, here it is! This blog is dedicated to my little family. We are Bryan, Braxton and Tiffany Harrison. I will start with a little about each of us. Bryan is my wonderful husband of almost 6 years. He is 27, has a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and works for a company in SLC called Northrop Grumman for almost 8 years now. Dang, time flies! He is a great husband, always taking care of things and an awesome dad. He enjoys home improvements (hee hee), fishing, family stuff, traveling and being with me and Braxton. Braxton is our 2 year old little man. He has brought so much joy to our lives, we often wonder what we ever did without him. He has always had such an outgoing personality and is constantly making us laugh with the things he comes up with. He came into our lives surprisingly on new years eve 2007. He came a month early, at a whopping 7 lbs! He was a big kid the first year of life, but has slowed down this past year. He has adorable curly hair, which often leads people to think he is a girl! I know right- boys do have curly nice hair too people!! It used to make me really mad, but I realize now it is only because he is a beautiful kid. He looks just like Bryan, but has some of my features too. He is definitely his own little person. Love him so so much. Now for me, the mom. My name's Tiffany and I am also 27....although I am 5 months OLDER than Bryan. He would want to be sure I mentioned that! I always pictured my life as a little girl as being just how it is now. I married my best friend, had a beautiful baby and lived happily ever after. Ok, it's not really just that simple all the time, but life has really been great to me. I have worked for Zions bancorp for almost 4 years now...WOW me! That's the longest I have been with a company so far in my life. This past year I have also been in the process of starting my own business as a photographer! I have been so fortunate to have so many people to practice on! I love it and hope to make it a full time career one day soon. That is pretty much us, in a nutshell of course! I will have much more to add later, and I definitely need to spice up this blog layout too! Keep checking back for a new and improved version!
