Life...

So today we went to church...YES, I went to church, and no it did not burn down when I walked through the door. The lesson today was all about how so many people only turn to God when they NEED something..and never stop to thank God for the many blessings they have already. It was also about how people use God as a "good luck charm", meaning that they may wear a cross pendant that is their lucky charm, when the true meaning of the cross means nothing to them..or someone may go to church only because it's "the right thing to do". It made me reflect upon my own life and realize that I could use some improvement in that area. My goal is to not only pray when I need help, or just need something, but to pray everyday just to thank God for my life, and all that he has given me. I think if we all step back and look at our lives from outside of the box, we can see all that we have to be thankful for!

More of Braxton's funniness

So I have been working on teaching Braxton that saying mean things, and doing mean things hurts people's feelings. So the other day he did something to me, and I told him he hurt my feelings. He looked really concerned and "kissed me better". Yesterday he asked for candy first thing in the morning and I told him no, he covered his face (like I did when he hurt my feelings) and told me "you hurt my feelings!!!" so I told him sorry, but we don't eat candy for breakfast...so he quickly got over it and uncovered his eyes. He started looking around very confused and asked me "where my feelings go?". LOL. I told him feelings are in your heart, and he asked me "in animals hearts too?" He is such a sweet kid

6/13- Today Braxton was sitting in the driver's seat of my car as I was in the passenger seat cleaning the dash. He pretended to drive and turned to me and said " Momma, you ready to go?", me: "ready to go where?", Brax- "to a happy place!".

June 2010-Dec. 2011- Braxton says so many funny things I can hardly keep track anymore. I am going to put a few of my favorites that come to mind...and then I will start keeping a more updated list. These are always good for a laugh when you look back on them months, or even years later!

So sometime between June and December... I was explaining to Braxton why my sister in law Ashley was having a baby, and that was why her belly was big. He was a little bit freaked out by it, and wouldn't touch her tummy. Later that night, he was in the room with me when I was putting my pajamas on. He walked behind me, and said (very seriously) "Momma...why is yours butt so big? Is there a baby in there?" I do have a little junk in my trunk, but REALLY?? At least I found humor in it right? LOL

Sometimes in the same time frame, Braxton learned to tell secrets. So randomly, as we are driving down the road, eating dinner, whatever, Braxton will say "I have a secret for you..." and then followed by something sweet like " I love you MUCH...you are beautiful.....your my best friend" etc. Seriously adorable.

As Braxton and Jayde get bigger, they are playing so well together. It's pretty funny to hear them talk, and the things they talk about!! Over Thanksgiving 2010, they were playing together and pretending to "go dancing".... and go on play dates to the park! LOL. All while they are running wild in Nana and Papa's house. Such cute imaginations.

Braxton loves seeing pictures of his baby cousin Hadlee. So as we are eating breakfast the the other day he asks me " Mom, can I have a baby sister?".... Even funnier, I have Braxton call to ask Bryan the same thing. "dad, can I have a baby sister?" Bryan-"why do you want one of those?" brax- "to play with me in my room"..... So he hands the phone back to me. Me " Isn't that funny he would say that?" Bryan-"Yeah, why would he want a baby sitter?" HA HA HA

Out trip to Colorado

We went on a road trip to see Bryan's sister Jamie over Memorial day weekend. It was so much fun. They live in Littleton, which is absolutely beautiful! We got to see the Columbine memorial. It was so peaceful and serene. It really made me think of my life, and how blessed I am. Seeing the school itself was a strange feeling because I remember seeing it on the news with the live footage of kids running out of the school screaming and frantic. It's so hard to imagine something so horrible taking place. We also got to visit the aquarium in downtown Denver. It was such an awesome aquarium...Salt lake definitely needs an upgrade theirs does not even compare. Braxton loved it! We took a drive to a memorial site called Mount Lindo Memorial, which is literally on top of a mountain. It is a place for people who are creamated to have a memorial, and a place for family and friends to visit. You can see Denver and the surrounding areas from the peak. I had never seen anything like it. We also went to a place called Tiny Town. It was a village of miniature buildings, which were replicas of different historic buildings in the surrounding areas. Braxton though it was pretty cool, he had to crouch down to look inside of them. We got to go on a tiny town train ride, which he also loved. On our last day we went to a small town outside of Denver called Golden, and went on the Coors Brewery tour. It was really fun, and I discovered that beer isn't really all that bad, with an orange in it! The 16fh street shopping center in Denver was also a lot of fun! 20 blocks of stores, restaurants and lots of interesting people (rocket man, bronze cowboy, lol). everytime we go somewhere new I come home wanting to move. There is so much diversity outside of SLC, so many things to do and see. I love road trips!!
